I’m still free - and when the rain stops I can go outside for 15 minutes and get some fresh air.

Dr N came in this morning - they are waiting for blood results to see if all is okay for last dose of chemo tomorrow. Rituximab is a +-5 hour infusion that destroys both normal and malignant B cells that have CD20 on their surfaces. Rituximab is a chimeric monoclonal antibody against the protein CD20 that is primarily found on the surface of immune system B cells. When it binds to this protein it triggers cell death..... so any rogue B cells that survived the treatment thus far will be destroyed 💣

I have developed a bad rash to my neck and face so they are administering medication - they call it a “hot” injection. Massive syringe (thank goodness it’s being administered through the neck catheter and not my arm!!).

Walk in the gardens

Was allowed out for 15 minutes of fresh air.. sure we were out there much longer though. Was lovely bring outside but my faulty thermostat did not enjoy the hoody and face mask. Took Ivonna Ivy Earnest (my stem cell sister) out for some fresh air and into the chapel. Even managed to get the guard to smile for the camera... or was he smiling cause he thought we were idiots 🤓 The gardens are looking amazing. Stunning hospital.
